Balayage in Buffalo Grove, IL
Hand-painted, sun-kissed dimension that grows out soft — no hard regrowth line, no brassy surprise six weeks later.
Balayage is a freehand painting technique: instead of placing color in uniform foils from the root, the lightener is painted onto the surface of the hair where the sun would naturally hit it. The result is softer, more blended brightness and a grow-out that looks intentional instead of overdue.
Liza's Sun-Painted Balayage is built around your starting color, your hair's density and the look in your inspiration photos — which is why every balayage booking starts with a photo consultation. Each blonde service is toned and finished, so you leave with the shade you actually asked for.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants brightness with low maintenance: brunettes going sun-kissed, blondes who are tired of harsh roots, and anyone who wants to stretch time between appointments.
How long it takes
Plan on about 4 hours for Sun-Painted Balayage. Longer or very thick hair can take more time — that's what the photo consultation is for.
Keeping it fresh
Balayage typically grows out gracefully. Many clients come back for a Toner Refresh or Glossing Treatment between full appointments to keep the tone clean and shiny.

Balayage FAQ
Sun-Painted Balayage starts at $250. Your final price is confirmed after Liza reviews 2–3 photos of your current hair and 2–3 inspiration photos, because length, thickness and starting color change the time and product needed.

Balayage is painted by hand for a soft, blended, lived-in result with a gentle grow-out. Foil highlights are placed in sections from closer to the root for a brighter, more uniform result. Liza offers both and will recommend the right one from your photos.
